Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY SportsThe Diamondbacks affiliates combined to go 2-2 on the day, in large part due to shoddy relief work in the organization. Here are the stars of last night’s games:3 Stars: Jackson RHP Emilio Vargas 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K2 Stars: Reno 3B/1B Kevin Cron 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI1 Star: Kane County RHP Justin Lewis 4 IP, 4 H Johnny Damon Jersey , 1 R (0 ER), 1 BB, 6 K0 Stars: Jackson RHP Bud Jeter 2鈦? IP, 4 H, 4 R (4 ER), 1 BB, 1 K, L (0-1)(AAA) Reno Aces 7, Albuquerque Isotopes 6: Justin Donatella’s first AAA start was quite forgettable, although his 2 runs in the 2nd were the result of terrible defense as the Aces (3-5) committed 4 errors behind him. However, the Aces hitters were able to string together 4 runs to take a 4-2 lead. Wyatt Mathieson and Kevin Cron had run-scoring doubles in a 3-run 3rd inning and Cody Decker homered in the 4th. Unfortunately Masahiro Tanaka Jersey , Donatella would allow a pair of homeruns before exiting with 2 outs in the 5th. The score remained 4-4 until Alex Young would yield the go-ahead run on a RBI double by Noel Cuevas. The Aces responded in the 7th in a big way as Kevin Cron blasted out a 3-run homer that have the Aces the lead for good. Rubby De La Rosa was solid in the 8th and Jimmie Sherfy was very shaky but wiggled out of a bases loaded jam for the save. (AA) Jackson Generals 2, Chattanooga Lookouts 6: Emilio Vargas was solid for the second start in a row, pitching 5 shutout on a 4/0 K/BB ratio. Unfortunately the other 24 players did not have a good day. Bud Jeter immediately replaced Vargas in the 6th and was hammered for 4 runs before having to be pulled out of there with 2 outs. Damien Magnifico ended the inning with no further damage and Jamie Westbrook hit a 2-run homer to cut the deficit in half. Unfortunately, that was it offensively as the Generals (3-4) bats went into a deep freeze. Mason McCullough allowed 2 runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach. (A+) Visalia Rawhide 2, San Jose Giants 6: Justin Green cruised through 5 innings, but ran into trouble in the 6th as the first three batters got hits off him and San Jose took a 1-0 lead. Erbert Gonzalez came in to try to keep the deficit at 1-0, but allowed the inherited runners to score. He then proceeded to give up 3 more runs in the 7th, which put the Rawhide in a deep hole. A wild pitch on a walk and a Jake McCarthy RBI single would result in the two runs for Visalia (4-4).(A) Kane County Cougars 7. Cedar Rapids Kernels 3: Justin Lewis and his eyebrows mesmerized the Kernels hitters for 4 innings, allowing just an unearned run in 4 innings with 6 strikeouts. The Kane County (5-3) hitters started off slow, but a big 4-run 6th highlighted by a 3-run homer by CF Tra Holmes allowed the Cougars to get breathing room. Kenny Hernandez piggy-backed off Lewis and allowed 2 runs in 5 innings, with the runs scoring after Kane County had picked up a 7-1 lead. Alek Thomas had 2 hits and a RBI and Geraldo Perdomo walked and stole a base. Will the breakout continue and/or migrate to his left handed swing ?"If familiar with this series go ahead and skip to poll. If not Paul O'Neill Jersey , please read on.This series of articles will run from now until shortly before opening day. The purpose is to crowd source the D-Backs fans of this website to get a sense of how they feel about the prospects of each individual player on the 40 man roster. For this exercise I will only be using rate (average) stats and poll the readers on their sense of direction for that player’s level of basic performance, regardless of playing time expectations.I’m not including defense and base running, so no WAR here, as that is playing time dependent. You will be given two poll options:The player will either exceed the projection or under perform the projection by 5% for hitters OPS or 10% for pitchers ERA/FIP.There is no middle option to vote on. (Otherwise the majority of votes would end up agreeing with the projection). What I am looking for is if you are forced to indicate your sense of direction for the player, is it well over or under the projection?Other Points of note:Projections are the average of Steamer and ZIPS projections.(Click through for original tables)The projections draw on 3 or 4 year samples, weighting most recent seasons the heaviest, but I’m just showing 2018 and career statsin mini table below for simplicityThe player’s name is high lighted with a link to the player’s Baseball-Reference page.Click on that to see more player history and detailAge is the 2019 player age.Polls will run until mid March, so if you miss a player, you can go to the story stream box on the front page andfind a player you might have missed .Please let us know in the comments section your thoughts behind your vote. Thanks !CONTEXTKETEL MARTE , Age 25Ketel Marte has a projection for a .774 OPS.Is he likely to come in Over or Under ?
