DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions lost the services of their top pass-rusher early during their 16-15 loss to the Titans on Sunday. Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah hobbled off the field after the third play of the game with an ankle injury and was officially ruled out in the third quarter.The Lions also lost running back Ameer Abdullah for the game to a foot injury after he came off the field following a 24-yard run in which he broke multiple tackles. He almost immediately went to the locker room and was eventually ruled out of the game.He was spotted postgame in a walking boot with a noticeable limp, according to ESPNs Adam Schefter.Abdullah had six carries for 38 yards when he left the game in the first half.Ansah slowly walked off the field and gingerly made his way to the trainers table. They looked at him on the table for a few minutes and appeared to be trying to tape the ankle. He stood on it and then moved slowly to the locker room and did not return.Ansah was spotted in the elevator after the game and declined comment on his ankle injury, walking out of the elevator with a slight limp without saying a word.A Pro Bowler last season, Ansah had two tackles and two quarterback hits in the season opener against Indianapolis.With Ansah out, the Lions relied on Devin Taylor, Wallace Gilberry and Kerry Hyder. Hyder had two sacks last week against the Colts. He and Taylor combined for a sack of Marcus Mariota on the first drive of Sundays game. Taylor also had a safety on Detroits second drive.Linebacker Antwione Williams (thigh) was also ruled out for the rest of the game, and the team entered the game without linebacker DeAndre Levy.Kyle Van Noy also left the game with a calf injury and did not return. Unlike Abdullah, Williams and Ansah, he was spotted on the sidelines after his injury and was walking, albeit slowly. The Lions finished the game with two healthy linebackers: Tahir Whitehead and Thurston Armbrister.Lions coach Jim Caldwell said he did not have an update on injuries to Ansah, Abdullah, Williams or Van Noy on their severity.You know I dont talk about injuries, Caldwell said.
