CAIRO http://www.officialhornetsprostore.com/kids-marvin-williams-hornets-jersey/ , Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's government on Tuesday rejected a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report over the killing of hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators at two protest camps in Cairo last year as "biased and negative," official news agency MENA reported.
The HRW's report is "negative and biased as it relied on anonymous and unreliable witnesses rather than neutral ones," a government statement said.
The mass killings took place on Aug. 14 when security forces dismantled two main protest camps in Cairo's Rabaa al-Adawiya and Nahda squares set up by supporters of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, who was overthrown by the army six weeks earlier in response to nationwide protests against his one-year in rule.
The government statement added the HRW's report ignored the huge amounts of weapons found inside the protest sites, and the terrorist operations committed by the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters which killed hundreds of civilians and security forces across the country under the name of peaceful protests.
It added the report didn't mention that the first death case during the dispersal of the two camps, was for a police officer who was shot while guiding protesters to safe exists via loud speaker.
On Monday, the executive director of HRW Kenneth Roth and another senior staff member Sarah Leah Whitson were denied entry to Egypt for "security reasons" after being held at the Cairo airport for 12 hours, according to Roth at a press conference.
Meanwhile, Egypt's Interior Ministry said Tuesday that the HRW delegation tried to enter Egypt without legal permit http://www.officialhornetsprostore.com/kids-kemba-walker-hornets-jersey/ , adding that the organization had filed a request with the Egyptian authorities to meet with officials on the dispersal of Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins but the authorities asked them to delay the meeting till September.
The report found the mass killing as systematic and described it as "crimes against humanity," holding Egypt's top officials responsible, and should be prosecuted.
The government asserted the dispersal abided by the international and ethical norms and rules, adding that the protesters http://www.officialhornetsprostore.com/kids-jeremy-lamb-hornets-jersey/ , who had been disrupting traffic and inciting chaos for weeks, were warned in advance and provided with safe exists and transport means to carry them back to their cities.
In its report, the human rights organization urged the UN to look into six incidents involving killings by security forces of Morsi's supporters.
It called on the UN Human Rights Council to establish an international commission of inquiry to investigate the mass killings of demonstrators since June 30, 2013 http://www.officialhornetsprostore.com/kids-glen-rice-hornets-jersey/ , the day when millions of Egyptians flocked to streets demanding Morsi and his group to leave.
The report said at least 817 protesters were killed during the clearing of the Brotherhood sit-in at Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in, " one of the world's largest killings of demonstrators in a single day in recent history," Roth said.
A government-appointed fact finding commission said in March that the deaths of hundreds of Brotherhood's backers last August was mostly the fault of demonstrators who had provoked security forces into opening fire. It found that 632 people were killed, 624 of them civilians.
The Interior Ministry then said 62 security officers died in violence across Egypt on Aug. 14, last year. About 275 policemen have been killed over the past year, it said.
The HRW acknowledged in its report that protesters threw petrol bombs at security forces and a few opened fire.
The government declared the Brotherhood as a terrorist group, arresting thousands of its members and putting Morsi and other leaders on trials.
