HOUSTON, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- A protest for the removal of a Confederate statue on Saturday afternoon ended here peacefully thanks to the crowd control measures used by the Houston Police Department (HPD).


Hundreds of people attended the event, which lasted two and a half hours. The protesters marched along the streets of Houston, holding a slogan that read: "White people Nike Air Force 1 Utility UK , what will we do today to end our legacy of violence?"
