The 28-year-old player joined Esteghlal for an undisclosed fee.
His regular position is in right midfield, but he can play in forward.
Chihi was born in Dusseldorf of Germany, but represented Morocco at international level.
He made his first appearance for the Morocco national football team in the friendly match against Benin on 20 August 2008.
Esteghlal currently sits first place at the Iran Professional League.

Beji Ca？d Essebsi also announced that the 20th meeting of the bilateral High Joint-Committee will be held in the coming days in Algeria.
Trade exchange between the two countries increased in 2013 by 19 percent to 1.7 billion U.S. dollars compared to 2012, making Algeria the largest Arab and African partner of Tunisia.
